You will have seen the Company’s Life Assurance scheme mentioned in your offer letter or employment contract. It’s an insurance policy which was established some time ago. Employees of OTL Group companies are eligible for the Life Assurance Scheme and we’re enrolled onto the scheme when we have 3 month’s service with the company (i.e. that’s usually the length of a probationary period).
Company Life Assurance schemes are also often referred to as “Death in Service” (‘DIS’) schemes because they’re intended to pay out a one-time, lump-sum benefit to an employee’s nominated beneficiaries if tragedy struck and that person were to die while they were still an employee of the company.
