Using your company mobile phone outside the UK

BEFORE YOU TRAVEL

Always let Pippa Abbott know in advance if you’re taking your company mobile phone out of the UK. She can arrange for a data bolt-on to be added to your number so you can easily access data when travelling – and avoid it costing a fortune.

Please be aware it can take some time for the data bolt-on to be added – so make sure you let Pippa know well in advance of your travels and don’t leave it to the last minute. Adding a bolt-on once you’re out of the UK can be problematic, and in some instances, means that the bolt-on can’t be added at all.

THINGS TO REMEMBER

It may sound obvious, but if you’re having phone problems always try turning the phone off and on again. You can also try taking the SIM card out and putting it back again. This often solves a lot of problems, as it forces the phone and the network to re-establish a connection.

If you’re struggling to automatically connect to a network, try manually finding one. Go to SETTINGS > CARRIER > and turn off AUTOMATIC. You should now be able to select from other network options – these might provide a better service for you.
